Essay #1
They say Villanova is a community unlike any other. Before I stepped foot on campus for a tour my senior year of high school, I chalked it all up to a marketing ploy. But as I reflect on my last (almost) four years at Villanova, I know this to be true in every fiber of my being. From the friends who became family. To the professors who have checked in and helped me succeed even years after I’ve taken their courses, to the dining services employees who treat me like I’m their child. I have the absolute honor and privilege of organizing and running the Admitted Students Day in a little over a month as the senior director. I cannot wait to highlight all of these aspects and more for the new incoming Villanovans. To me, community means home. I have found and built my home at Villanova both on campus and through the alumni network. It excites me beyond words to play a small role in helping another student choose to make Villanova their home as I have.
Essay# 2
For this essay, I will share my Villanova story through my favorite basketball memories.
In my first year, going to basketball games in person was not possible. I bonded with girls on my floor: Natalie, Paisley, and Ellie through watching Villanova Women’s and Men’s Basketball games from our dorm rooms. On gameday we would order CampCo delivery and gather around the TV.
As a sophomore, Villanova went to the Final Four. I was studying in Italy with Natalie. We watched basketball from a laptop. We reunited with Paisley to watch Elite Eight together in Naples. We watched the Final Four game in a study room with 10 other Villanovans. The end was heartbreaking, but the excitement and the memories were the most important.
As a junior, my favorite basketball memory came from a contest. The men’s team partnered with KwikMart for a giveaway. They had signed basketballs at 6 locations. Along with my friends, we got three of them!
As a senior, I am just trying to soak it in. I won fan of the game at the Men’s Providence game. I sat first row at the Women’s UConn game. I love this team and this school. Go Cats!
Essay# 3
My time at Villanova University thus far has helped me grow and mature tremendously. I have learned to be a productive and responsible young man. Through my involvements, I have strengthened my ability to effectively balance my time.
Academically, I have learned to persevere and remain resilient. Although the Villanova curriculum is rigorous, it will undoubtedly prepare me for my career. I have managed to embrace all challenges with confidence and composure. The world has become my classroom, as my studies have taken me to the Czech Republic, Germany, Paris, Washington DC, and many other notable destinations around the world. Throughout these travels, I have formed relationships with numerous influential professionals. The Villanova network is incredibly strong and supportive. Utilizing the Villanova network can open various doors and create unimaginable opportunities.
As someone who is constantly thinking about my future, I have learned to remain present. My time at Villanova is moving by quickly, and I have cherished every moment with friends, peers, professors, and members of the Villanova University community. Beyond my graduation, Villanova will continue to be my home. I am committed to assisting future generations of Villanovans to help them emerge as leaders in our society
